Elisa becomes market leader in interactive communication services in the Nordic countries with the acquisition of Videra Oy.
In accordance with its strategy, Elisa is strengthening its position as an ICT player by acquiring a majority holding in Videra, the leading video conference company in the Nordic countries. Video and interactive communication is the next big step in improving customers’ profitability by means of new technology. The combination of two strong players’ expertise creates opportunities for utilising interactive communication solutions in, for instance, customer service in a new way in both the private and the public sector.
The market of virtual work and video conferencing will grow significantly in the next few years when both the private and the public sector introduce new ways of working and providing customer service using video and interactive communication services. The services enable growth in competitiveness and productivity.

Videra’s is becoming part the Elisa Group through an arrangement where Elisa’s holding in Videra Oy will 64.7%. Videra will continue its operations as Elisa’s subsidiary.

Die finnische Armee intensiviert ihre Arbeit mit einem neuen Videokonferenzsystem

Die finnische Armee führt im Rahmen des staatlichen Projekts zu Sicherheitsnetzen im Dezember ein neues Videokonferenzsystem ein. Die Beschaffung des Videokonferenzsystems für die finnische Armee ist im letzten Jahr die größte in Finnland. Insgesamt handelt es sich um 87 Videokonferenzsysteme.
Seit Dezember 2009 ist das Videokonferenzsystem in vollem Umfang im Einsatz. Die Arbeitszeit in der Datenverwaltung der finnischen Armee wird effektiver genutzt und der Bedarf an Dienstreisen wird abnehmen. Lieferant des neuen Videokonferenzsystems für die Armee ist die Firma Videra Oy.
– Hier handelt es sich um die größte Einzelbeschaffung und Einführung von Telekonferenzsystemen in Finnland im letzten Jahr. Der Nutzungsgrad von Telekonferenzen ist in der öffentlichen Verwaltung höher als allgemein bekannt. Wir sind außerordentlich erfreut darüber, dass das uns entgegen gebrachte Vertrauen bei so anspruchsvollen Kunden in der staatlichen Verwaltung auf so stabiler Basis steht, sagt Videras Vertriebsleiter Pekka Haataja.
In diesem staatlichen Projekt zu Sicherheitsnetzen werden Videokonferenzen als zentrale gemeinsame Dienstleistung genannt. Ein Ausgangspunkt bei der Modernisierung des Videokonferenzsystems der Armee waren die Verpflichtungen zur Kooperation innerhalb der Behörden und insbesondere die Kompatibilität mit dem Videokonferenzsystem und den Angeboten des Dokumentationszentrums der Verwaltung (HALTIK) im Innenministerium.
Ferngesteuerte Endgeräte und das System nutzen das interne Telekommunikationsnetz der finnischen Armee. Die Konzentration erleichtert den Einsatz und die Verwaltung des Systems. Eine Aufgabe der Datenverwaltung der finnischen Armee ist, die Arbeit der Organisation zu intensivieren und Kosten einzusparen.
Videra hat in den letzten Jahren insgesamt über 1100 Videokonferenzsysteme an verschiedene Organisationen der staatlichen Verwaltung geliefert. Telekonferenzen werden unter anderem im Innenministerium, Wirtschafts- und Arbeitsministerium, Land- und Forstwirtschaftsministerium, Unterrichtsministerium, Justizministerium, Ministerium für Verkehr, Medien und Telekommunikation sowie im Finanzministerium aktiv genutzt. Von den an staatliche Behörden gelieferten Lösungen sind weit über die Hälfte Anwendungslösungen des Pakets Videra Virtual Office, und die Videokonferenzsysteme der eigenen Netzwerkumgebung konzentrieren sich auf Sicherheitsbehörden. |
