Elisa becomes market leader in interactive communication services in the Nordic countries with the acquisition of Videra Oy.
In accordance with its strategy, Elisa is strengthening its position as an ICT player by acquiring a majority holding in Videra, the leading video conference company in the Nordic countries. Video and interactive communication is the next big step in improving customers’ profitability by means of new technology. The combination of two strong players’ expertise creates opportunities for utilising interactive communication solutions in, for instance, customer service in a new way in both the private and the public sector.
The market of virtual work and video conferencing will grow significantly in the next few years when both the private and the public sector introduce new ways of working and providing customer service using video and interactive communication services. The services enable growth in competitiveness and productivity.

Videra’s is becoming part the Elisa Group through an arrangement where Elisa’s holding in Videra Oy will 64.7%. Videra will continue its operations as Elisa’s subsidiary.

Det finske forsvaret effektiviserer sin virksomhet med et nytt videokonferansesystem

Det finske forsvaret tar i desember i bruk et nytt videokonferansesystem som inngår som en del av statens satsing på sikkerhetsnettverk. Forsvarets satsing på nytt videokonferansesystem er den største i sitt slag i Finland det siste året og omfatter til sammen 87 videokonferansesystemer.
Videokonferansesystemet, som vil være i full bruk i desember 2009, effektiviserer arbeidstiden til forsvarets dataadministrasjon og reduserer reisebehovet. Det nye videokonferansesystemet blir levert av Videra Oy.
– Det dreier seg om anskaffelse og ibruktaking av det største enkeltstående fjernkonferansesystemet det siste året i Finland. Bruken av fjernkonferanser i offentlig forvaltning er betydelig mer omfattende enn hva som allment er kjent. Vi er svært glade for at tilliten vi blir vist er så solid forankret blant svært krevende kunder innen offentlig forvaltning, forteller salgssjef Pekka Haataja i Videra.
I det pågående statlige sikkerhetsnettverksprosjektet er videokonferansetjenester definert som en av de sentrale fellestjenestene. Under forsvarets fornyelse av sitt videokonferansesystem var forpliktelsene til myndighetssamarbeidet et av ugangspunktene for prosjektet og spesielt kompabiliteten med videokonferansesystemet og tjenestene til innenriksdepartementets administrative informasjonstjenestesenter (HALTIK).
De fjernkontrollerte terminalene og systemet utnytter forsvarets eget kommunikasjonsnett. Samordningen forenkler kontrollen over og bruken av systemet. En av oppgavene til forsvarets dataadministrasjon er å effektivisere virksomheten til organisasjonen og sørge for kostnadsbesparinger.
Videra har i løpet av de senere år levert til sammen over 1100 videkonferansesystemer til ulike organisasjoner innen statsforvaltningen i Finland. Blant annet benyttes fjernkonferanser aktivt i innenriksdepartementet, arbeids- og næringsdepartementet, jord- og skogbruksdepartementet, undervisningsdepartementet, justisdepartementet, samferdsels- og kommunikasjonsdepartementet og finansdepartementet. Langt over halvparten av de løsninger som er levert til statsforvaltningen er Virtual Office–tilpasninger fra Videra og videokonferansesystemene i det egne nettverksmiljøet er konsentrert til kretsen rundt sikkerhetsmyndighetene. |
